This is the first time I have been to Sweden. I have pictures in my head from listening to the Stieg Larsson trilogy on audio books (yes – you get the correct pronunciation of those Swedish words that interrupt the flow when you struggle to read them in the book) and for me Lisbeth Salander is the splitting image of a tough-assed , wiry, New York (actually from NJ), socially inept, criminally-inclined punk girl I used to know in the East Village in the late 70s. She was the quintessential daredevil. I don’t expect to meet her in Stockholm, but perhaps I will meet you? I am giving a MAN FOR A DAY workshop at the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts on March 11/12.
I will be assisted by the extraordinary impressario and club owner, Ingo, of Club Wotever. We will both be performing at the opening of Stockholm’s Club Wotever on International Women’s Day. http://woteverworld.com
